Balance is important. The most common question heard is "will the window tint be dark?". The answer is not if you don't want it to be. Bee Cool Window film has evolved over the years and you no longer need a dark window tint to reduce heat coming in windows or increase privacy and window security. When Bee Cool Glass Coating designed Bee Cool 25 the goal was to design a window glass film that would provide privacy, heat rejection, glare reduction, UV protection, security and neutral exterior appearance all in one.
Adding privacy to residential windows is a balance of exterior appearance and maintaining natural light. After years of consulting with clients Bee Cool Glass Coating found that a light to medium window tint was the most common request and medium privacy with minimal reflectivity look from outside. The Bee Cool team came up with a light exterior reflective layer combined with a medium charcoal interior layer combined with a high performance 99% UV protection layer. The result was a window film that has a beautiful exterior gunmetal/smoked glass look with medium privacy.
The interior side has less reflectivity than standard glass. This makes it so your view looking out the window is clean, crisp and better than it was before the window film was installed. Glare reduction through the window is significantly reduced by reflecting some of the light going out and blocking some of the light coming in through the window. This helps to reduce glare on TV screens, computers and makes reading a book much easier. Many residential homes need to stop sunlight from coming in windows and fading furniture and floors. There are several ways that sunlight causes fading. The most commonly known fact is that UV rays from the sun are damaging and will cause fading. This is true. UV Rays cause the largest amount of fading - About 40%. What most people don't know is that the sunlight coming in windows also has 2 other very powerful rays that need to be reduced in order to get the best fade reduction. The 2nd sunlight ray is light. While you want to maintain lots of natural sunlight, you also need to know it causes 25 percent of fading.
The best fade reduction window film will have the perfect balance needed to prevent sunlight coming in your windows and reduce fading. Infrared rays are the last sunlight ray that comes in your window and causes fading. It's known as the heat ray and also accounts for 25% of fading. In the winter it can be nice to benefit from some free sunlight heat but too much will cause fade damage. Bee Cool platinum 20 - Window Tint

Exterior platinum 20 - Glass Laminate
Sometimes there is not enough room to install Window tint from the inside so it must be installed on the exterior. Standard interior window tint cannot be installed on the exterior surface because it will fail to quickly. The anti-scratch coating on Exterior window tint is much stronger to protect it from exterior elements such as rain, snow, sand, wind and tree branches.
Bee Cool Glass Coating's Exterior platinum 20 is a transparent window tint that is a PET coating. It's designed to handle extreme weather so that it performs in even the harshest environments. While exterior window tints look and feel the same as interior window tints there is a major difference when it comes to installing them. Exterior windows are much dirtier and therefore need several extra steps to be cleaned. Environmental conditions such as wind, rain and too much sunlight can also delay the install. This adds to the cost of having an exterior window tint installed. Exterior window tints are normally warrantied for 5-7 years but when taken care of last 10 - 20 years.
